This session will look at the challenges associated with mixed-ability ensemble music-making in secondary schools. We’ll explore rhythm games and exercises that develop ensemble skills which can be used as warm-ups or focussing activities both with and without instruments.
We’ll also think about using improvisation and playing by ear as a skill-building exercise and a way of generating performance material.
There will be time for attendees to share questions about their own specific settings.
