Pupils from across Norfolk are invited to take part in The Grand Sing with Gareth Malone!

This year we are partnering with Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association, Charanga, Big Sky Creative and Gareth Malone to bring an exciting opportunity for you to join us live at the Royal Norfolk Show in the Grand Ring.

We have selected a fantastic arrangement of songs which will be hosted on Charanga and performed by young people from across Norfolk in the Grand Ring, led by Gareth Malone.

Who is this project aimed at?

  • This project is accessible to all young people across Norfolk

When are the resources available?

  • Resources will be available from Tuesday 2nd May for you to practice leading up to the event on the Norfolk Music Hub tab of Charanga.

What will happen on the day?

  • On the day you will meet your designated Norfolk Music Hub representative at one of the two gates on the north side of the grand ring. Here you will register and then be guided into the Grand Ring for the performance. You will be sent further details closer to the event with details of your representative and a map of your meeting check point and confirmation of the performance time, which will be 12.20pm, which will give you enough time to enjoy all that the Royal Norfolk Show has to offer.

What will we do the rest of the day if attending in person?


Our Music Maestro: Gareth Malone

Gareth has helped galvanise the British choral scene through his award winning BBC series, concert tours and recordings.

Gareth is a fellow of the Royal Academy of Music where he studied with Janice Chapman and Jonathan Papp. He was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of East Anglia and Freedom of the City of London in 2010. In 2012 he was made OBE in the Queen’s birthday honours for services to music.
