The Benedetti Foundation is delighted to be working in partnership with Norfolk Music Service and Inspiration Trust to bring ‘Music Service Sessions’ to Norfolk on Thursday 26th May, 2022!
Young string players (violin, viola, cello, double bass), from year 3 – year 8, and working from approximately pre grade 1 to Grade 3 level, are invited to join us for a day of making music together. Please note no exams need to have been taken and these grades are given as a guideline.
This day has been designed for students. We want them to absorb as much as possible, leave any nerves or worries at the door and be relaxed, yet focused. Intense, yet calm. Our sole intention is to inspire young string players. In order for us all to gain the most from the workshop, we will require a level of commitment from teachers and students as we work towards the sessions. Regardless of your level, we want to help students to remember that to be good at something, and therefore experience more enjoyment, it takes consistent and intelligent work. It doesn’t happen on its own.
By signing students up to this workshop, you are also signing up for preparation. It doesn’t have to take long, but consistency is key. We have put together a tutorial video and a play along track to help you all with your practice, which will be available from mid-April. We are looking to create a balanced string orchestra and some instruments may fill up sooner than others. We will be in touch with the number of places your school has been allocated by May 3rd. Please register your interest in the opportunity by Friday 29th April.
On the day, we will be working with an amazing team of tutors: Rachel Cooper and Alice Kent. Click on their names to read more about them.
This day is free of charge and has been generously supported by The Ranworth Trust, The Chivers Trust, The Timothy Colman Charitable Trust and The Educational Foundation of Alderman John Norman. It also includes a Twilight CPD.
