We are thrilled to offer an online, interactive assembly led by Midé Naike, world-renowned beatboxer and DJ, to celebrate Black History Month.

Who is this assembly suitable for?

  • This assembly is appropriate for key stage 2 & 3 students

How long is the online assembly?

  • The online assembly will last approximately 40 minutes

The online assembly will be led by Midé Naike, who will:

  • Provide insight into the history of beatbox (simplified for KS2)
  • Translate the drum kit into the beatbox language
  • Give people insight into the ‘illusion’ created by beatboxers
  • Discuss how to improve stage presence and confidence when performing
  • Give a Q&A

About Midé Naike

Midé Naike is a producer, DJ and professional beatboxer from UK vocal group, The Sons of Pitches. Since winning BBC’s The Naked Choir in 2015, Midé has gone on to complete 5 UK tours, and host Sky1’s Sing: Ultimate A Cappella with Cat Deeley.

Workshops have formed a large part of Midé’s career and over the last decade, he has taught beatboxing to tens of thousands of children and adults in the UK, Hong Kong, Slovakia, Spain, Switzerland and Austria. Midé has also competed at Championship level as a Solo beatboxer, as well as the Tag Team category.
