Christmas Carolling for all young singers aged 6-16
Young people are invited to join Thetford Voices on Friday 20 December to prepare a programme of carols and Christmas songs. After lunch, there is the opportunity to sing together in residential homes across Thetford. The day closes with a concert at 6.45pm in St Cuthbert’s Church for friends, guests and families.
There is no charge for this workshop.

Wymondham Youth Orchestra will perform music they have been working on recently, plus a selection of festive favourites and carols at the WYMS annual Christmas Concert on 7 December 2019 in Eaton.

Wymondham Youth Music Society is welcoming new members in 2020 and is offering the opportunity for children to ‘have a go’ without committing to joining the ensemble. There a two taster sessions at the beginning of the Spring term, on Thursdays 9th and 16th January, from 6.00 – 7.00pm at Robert Kett Primary School, NR18 0LS.
These sessions are for any children who play the violin, viola, cello or double bass, from those who have been learning just a short while (pre Grade 1) through to those of about Grade 3+ standard. Music of varying levels of difficulty will be provided, including some very easy parts for beginners.
There is no charge for the taster sessions, and then a reduced fee of £25 for the rest of the Spring term. The normal termly charge is £37.

Across three days, KS2 pupils will come together to sing and perform alongside each other and collaborate in large-scale performances.
The theme of this year’s performances is the history of Norfolk. The KS2 title is Home sweet home – Songs based around the history of Norfolk.

Our CPD events are available free of charge to all schools signed up to any Hub Subscription Package or £75 otherwise.

The current season is Wymondham Youth Orchestra’s 30th – still young at heart and going strong!
The orchestra will be playing a special anniversary concert in the splendid surroundings of Wymondham’s magnificent Abbey on Saturday 13th July.
Conducted by Margery Baker, the orchestra will play music by Haydn (Symphony No 94 ‘Surprise’), Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, Rimski Korsakov and John Williams. The highlight will be the Concertante for Alto Sax by Clare Grundman with soloist Sara Chilenge.
Admission by programme on the door.
