The programme will centre on the suite ‘The Planets’ by Gustav Holst. 2018 is the centenary of the first performance of this wonderfully exuberant and ever popular work. Also included will be music from the extraordinary film 2001: A Space Odyssey, the theme of which is from ‘Also Sprach Zarathustra’ by Richard Strauss.
Workshop participants will work together under the musical direction of John Stephens, assisted by 9 other professional instrumental coaches including Alex Girdlestone (strings), Barry Carben (woodwind), David Scragg (Brass) and Colin Shaw (percussion).
