Live Music Week 2019

The Music Service has now re-instated the age-old tradition of bringing Live Music Week performance to schools. 15 May – 17 May 2019

From previous feedback, we have scheduled this event during SATs week.

What we offer:

Book a performance to inspire and motivate your pupils to take up an instrument, or perhaps as a precursor to a Whole Class Ensemble Teaching programme.

Our musicians will be in your school for 1 hour, which includes a performance of 45 minutes.

We are interested in suggestions from schools for possible themes or styles that will engage your pupils in a bespoke way. Anything from Bollywood to Grime…surprise us!

Charges:

£100 per performance
or £50 for schools signed up to a Premium Hub Subscription Package or on a WCIT programme for 2018/19.

Charanga Cafe – Beginner (CPD)

Delivered by Madeline Casson, this CPD event is available free of charge to all schools signed up to any Hub Subscription Package or £75 otherwise.

Charanga Musical School is an award winning, modern resource for primary music which includes a complete Scheme that meets all the requirements of the national curriculum. Musical School is perfect for all teachers however confident they feel with teaching music. This Introduction session will focus mainly on getting the most from the Scheme as well as a brief overview of the vast library of supporting resources.

Care of the speaking voice (CPD)

This CPD event is available free of charge to all schools signed up to any Hub Subscription Package or £75 otherwise.

Your voice is one of the most important tools in your teaching arsenal. We often forget to make best use of it, resulting in strains, illness and fatigue.

At this CPD you will learn how to use your natural instrument to be a more effective communicator, conserve energy and engage a room through simple adjustments and techniques, as well as the development of children and young people’s vocal health.

Norfolk Music Hub Awards 2017

As part of the Norfolk Music Hub Expo, which took place on Thursday 9th March 2017, we held an awards ceremony, to recognise and celebrate the hard work that individuals, schools and organisations put in to music education across the County.

The categories were open to public nominations, from which the Executive Board for Norfolk Music Hub chose the shortlist. The shortlisted nominees were then interviewed by Ian Cooper, Assistant Head of Music Service, and the winners were announced at the evening event of the conference at Dunston Hall.

Congratulations to all the nominees and winners!
