Karen has been teaching in Secondary Schools for 23 years and have been Head of Music for 20 years. Throughout her career she has taught both music and music technology at KS4 and KS5 and is currently delivering the BTEC Tech Award to large cohorts of KS4 students. During this time, Karen has also worked with several exam boards marking, moderating and writing a range of qualifications at Levels 2 and 3.
Overview of session:
This session will focus on the assessment of Components 1 and 2 of the BTEC Tech Award in Music Practice (2022). It will look at the Pearson assessment grids, key terms used and how to apply these to student work.
