We are excited to invite you to join us in taking part in the largest percussion ensemble using recyclable materials in the Grand Ring at the Royal Norfolk Show on Thursday 29th June 2023!
We would like you to join us in celebrating this occasion with a performance of a newly commissioned piece to be performed by young people from across Norfolk on buckets and junk percussion, written by Tim Brain from Louder Than Life LTD. This piece of music is called Bucket Beats XL.

What you need:
- This project is designed to deliver a music piece created around rhythmic beats that can be played on any sized bucket or plastic bowl. The resources can be accessed at school via the Norfolk Music Hub tab on Charanga or set as homework challenges for your young people to engage with at home via Yumu Charanga.

- This project is accessible to all young people across Norfolk
When are the resources available?
- Resources will be available from Tuesday 2nd May for you to practice leading up to the event on the Norfolk Music Hub tab of Charanga.
Will there be a CPD to assist teachers in using the resources?
- Yes, this will take place on Tuesday 2nd May from 4.15pm-5pm. Please tick the box when registering for this project if you would like to attend the CPD.
What will happen on the day?
- On the day you will meet your designated Norfolk Music Hub representative at one of the two gates on the north side of the grand ring. Here you will register and then be guided into the Grand Ring for the performance. You will be sent further details closer to the event with details of your representative and a map of your meeting checkpoint.
- The performance will be at 1.05pm for 30 minutes.
What will we do the rest of the day?
- During the day you are welcome to visit the Royal Norfolk Show in your school parties. Tickets and parking are offered free of charge to school parties. We will also be running a school’s stage where it is hoped you will book a time to perform around the World Record Attempt. Please click on this link to book a performance slot on the school’s stage.
