A one-day workshop for musicians interested in developing a career in inclusive, large-group teaching. It aims to raise awareness of the variety of teaching opportunities available within Music Services and to help Services recruit a diverse group of versatile tutors.

The training includes:
• Participatory sessions about leading inclusive music session with large groups of children and young people
• Ideas for warm ups & behaviour management tips from experienced workshop leaders
• Information on further training and teaching opportunities with Music Services
• Advice on writing CVs and how to succeed in interviews
• Information on how music is being used in schools to support pupil wellbeing and attainment

ROUTES INTO TEACHING – NORWICH 7th April
10.00-10.30am: Arrival coffee and questions
10.30-11.00am: Musical heroes exercise- why and how do we learn music?
Is there more than one way to teach music?
11.00-11.30am: Hockets (Demonstration of group music teaching-Practical)
11.30-12.15pm: Panel: Music service, Music Hub partners,
· What skills do I need to apply to a music service or partner organisation?
· What opportunities exist?
· What is the Certificate for Music Educators? Are there other opportunities for training?
12.15-1pm: CV writing, presenting your experience, developing your practice.
LUNCH
1.45-2.15pm: Developing and sharing repertoire (Practical)
2.15-3.15pm: Panel and tea break (3pm). Panel of other employers or interested organisations

3.15-3.30pm: Songwriter-talking about progression
3.30-4.00pm: Your questions answered
4.00pm: Plenary and close.
